Man tells police he stole flowers to get beer money

MANATEE COUNTY – A Bradenton man admitted to police that he stole three city-owned plants because he needed to buy beer, the Bradenton Police Department said.
MANATEE COUNTY – A Bradenton man admitted to police that he stole three city-owned plants because he needed to buy beer, the Bradenton Police Department said.
Favian Flores, 43, of the 2000 block of Seventh Avenue East, was arrested in the theft of three Crown of Thorns plants that were a part of a community beautification project in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Avenue East.
Flores returned the plants to police after telling them he took them to sell for beer money, the report said.
"OK, first I figured I could use the flowers to get laid on Valentine's Day,"
"but, then I got to thinkin' about what really gets her goin'......"
